“Meeting Benchmarks” - #Blog365 Day 351

Along with my daily blogging, I have also been working towards some writing goals that are larger in scope. While the daily blogging work of this #Blog365 initiative has involved quite a bit of time over the course of the year, and many words, as well as many pages, I’m anxious to also begin writing a new book.

To that end, I’ve been working with a colleague on what this new text might be, and as of this past weekend, we had finally finished the work that would go into a sample chapter. Aside from doing some grammar checking leading up to the submission, we are incredibly close to putting it forward and allowing our peers to decide if it should be made into something other than a proposal.

The book basically explores some key aspects of relationship building, and it is a topic I feel very strongly about. While I might not always succeed, I strive to make decisions with people always at the forefront, and in order to do that, we have to make sure that we understand the nuances of relationships, including how to build them, how to sustain them, and how to leverage relationships to help continue the good work.

While I still have much to learn about this, I feel that my experiences so far, and that of my colleague who I am writing with, make us good candidates to put a book together on the topic. Of course, our colleagues who read the sample chapter will decide whether, in fact, we are right about this.

I’m looking forward to putting the final touches on the proposal, submitting it, and seeing what educators tasked with reviewing it think!
